Organize Your Day and Find More Time - Real Life Real Estate

Organize Your Day and Find More Time

Real estate agents waste a lot of time.   At first glance one would think that real estate agents have it made, after all they get to schedule their own time.  But therein lies the issue…they get to schedule their own time.

Time Management is a Struggle

Time management can be a struggle for real estate agents.  It is far too easy to get wrapped up in activities that give the illusion of working.  Procrastination is an art.  But if they take the time to schedule exactly what they are going to do every day, they will not only get more done, but will also have more personal time.  The key to getting those 24 hours under control is organization and consistency.

Put Yourself on a Schedule

Getting into the routine of organizing your time can be a real challenge, but you have to start.  Think about when you work best…are you a morning person or an evening person?  If it takes you a while to “warm up” in the morning, than use that time for administrative activities and save your peak time for getting in front of clients and potential clients.  This is when you want to be on your “A” game.  Put yourself on a schedule that works with how you work and set daily goals.

You Have 24 Hours Every Day

Look at it this way.  We all get 24 hours every day to use/schedule however we please.  Let’s assume that you will sleep 8 hours.  That leaves you with 16 hours every day to do with as you please.  Since selling real estate is a job and you treat it as such, you spend 8 hours of every day working…really working.  That leaves you with 8 hours to do whatever you want…8 HOURS!  That’s a lot of time.  Sure you will take out time for driving, eating and those types of things, but you still have several hours every day to do whatever you please.  But if you are going to deduct time for that, please be honest about working for 8 full hours.  Are you really working or just in the office checking in on your social media networks and getting lost on the Internet?  Time is our most valuable commodity and none of us can afford to waste it.  Take the time to organize your day, really work when you work and you’ll find more time to do the things that give you joy. Be prosperous!
