In this age of instant gratification, it seems as though more and more real estate agents are looking for some easy money.
Successful Real Estate Agents
Selling real estate is a job. There are some transactions that are easy and there are others that are painfully difficult. The days of “easy” money are over and have been over for many years. If you are to be a successful real estate agent you have to:
- Prospect consistently
- Market consistently
- Manage client expectations
- Communicate effectively
- Make it about the client, not the money
You Have To Put In The Work
Day in and day out, you must do these five things. Are they easy? Not always. Are they essential? Absolutely! Hopping from broker to broker is not the answer. It doesn’t matter what brokerage firm you are with if you are not doing what you need to do to be successful. Your broker is not there to give you leads…most brokers don’t even have the leads to give you. I love when I hear agents changing brokerage firms because of the commission structure. What those agents fail to realize is that 100% of nothing is nothing! You have to put in the work.
Ask For Help
I know it gets frustrating when things don’t go the way you expect. It’s easy to point the finger at other people. It’s someone else’s fault that you aren’t successful, but you have to do your part. Your broker is there to provide support, training, mentoring and guidance. When you get frustrated and your business starts to suffer, that is when you turn to your broker. They can help you create a plan to turn your business around. And if they don’t know what to do or can’t help you, then it is time to consider moving on to greener pastures.
